Personal: May is fantastic!

Dear All,

I apologise with the lack of updates this few weeks because it is my birthday week and so will be very busy. I will try my best to update you guys on promotions!

On the site note, the baby expo fair sucks much. I only bought 5 for $15 bib and another 3 for $10 bib.
That is all! Boring much!!!

Love, KimmyK

Personal: What's in my diaper bag for a 5-month old.

Hello! Today, I'm gonna share with you what me and my hubby carry around when we're out and about with our precious boy.

First of all, Let me say that I have a huge obsession with bags. Now that I'm with a baby, the bag can no longer be mini but has to be big, spacious and easy to hang on the stroller or carry around when the baby is on a carrier.

The bag is from VCool which I bought in Qoo10 Singapore (Gmarket). Its less than $20 and its great for its price! The only downside is that you cant sling it and could only be carried on the shoulder.

The Bottle Bag is used to store either a thermo-flask or a feeding bottle.

It fits A-4. Has side straps for stroller.

I hang my ant-bac gel on the side which is good when I need clean hands!

There's an outer pocket which stores my phone.

There's a total of 8 inner pockets which includes 2 thermal pockets. I usually only use all the pockets. Some items like his milk bottle + formula container, food container + spoon, sippy-cup, and toys are not shown as of the moment.

#1 The zipper pocket: contains my keys, pupsik studio booklet, empy plastic bag, hair tie.

The two most used pockets!

#2: Essentials pocket: 2 tissues, first-aid kit which includes a band-aid, ru-yi oil, diaper cream, nail cutter and mosquito patch. We then have the  Watson wipes for mom, NUK wipes incase the diaper case runs out, Pigeon anti-bac wipes for wiping things that he might put in his mouth, Hand Sanitizer spray for dirty surfaces.

#3: Mommy Pocket: My Tory Burch wallet, Vanity kit

Vanity Kit has: Hair Tie, Hair clip, Comb, Love Pink Lipstick, Love Pink BB-Powder, Mary Kay lip Balm

In the main componenet, #4 is my diaper case which i bring along in the nursery room in case there's a need to do a diaper change.

Diaper case has 2 plastic bag with a diaper each, Bepanthen Diaper cream, Changing mat, Wipes.

#5 is Baby's Changing Items for emergency.

1 - Cloth towel, 2 - onesie, 3- socks, 4- bib, 5-thermometer, 6-hat, 7- empty plastic bag, 8- transparent bag that stores wet or dry used clothes.

#6 Powder Container which contains his powder for freshing up.

That's it! I hope it may enlighten you to what you could bring when he's a toddler. Like what I mentioned earlier, Some stuff are not in the bag because I only prepare it before leaving the house.

When he was still a newborn, I used to bring his blanky, his small pillow, and 3 formula bottles. Now, its down to 1 bottle, his food and all the feeding stuff. Sometimes i dont even bring his thermal flask and toys cause it just adds on the bulk. That is why a big bag is a must with lots of pockets to be more organised.

I guess being organised is very important. You need to find stuff in a second when you need them. Specially if you're carrying a baby or you're panicking for some baby emergency. Dumping everything and not being able to find what you need the minute you need them activates mommy monster which of course you need to avoid.

What's in your diaper bag? Share with me. It's always interesting and I might learn from you too!

Review: Huggies Natural Baby Wipes

Baby Wipes are a great help for cleaning up the many different messes that baby's make. It's just as well Huggies® Baby Wipes are not only soft and gentle on your baby's skin but also thick and strong enough to deal with even the worst clean ups!

Huggies® baby wipes are made with natural fibres* - 76% pulp. They are also soap, alcohol and fragrance free.

In addition to being soft and gentle on your baby's skin, Huggies® wipes are thick enough to deal with the worse kind of clean up, and we have all seen what they look like! None of us have any great use for a wipe that falls apart mid way through the job! Huggies® baby wipes provide the gentlest care possible and are also large enough to cover your whole hand so you'll need less wipes for each change.

Every Huggies® Baby Wipe is individually treated for even, moist distribution. This means you won't get dry, hard wipes at the top of packs and saturated, soggy wipes at the bottom! Every Huggies® Baby Wipe will be the same - soft, moist and effective.

My Review:
Pros:

  • Fragrance Free
  • Hard top cover
Cons:
  • Poop could leak at the holes of the wipe
  • Too wet, Cant dry bottom quickly
  • Might give rashes
  • Not that thick

Overall: Did not really like the wipes, Was not efficient in cleaning baby's bottom as the poop kept leaking to my hand. There are other better wipes out there that is far more cheaper as well.

Rating: 1/5

Tips: The things to look out for in a wipe is the wetness then the thickness. Its no use to get a wipe that is too wet when you clean baby's bottom because it could contribute to rashes easier. Even if the wipe is more to the dry side but its thick enough to wipe away, its better like that.

Review: Avent Soothing Magic Cream

The all-in-one solution to your baby's daily skincare needs. Apply to face and body to moisturise, remove dry patches, and help heal rashes.

Features
♦ Hypoallergenic
♦ Mild enough for the most sensitive skin

My Review:
Pros:

  • Smell is nice and pleasant
  • Easily Absorbed
  • Not Sticky
  • Not greasy
Cons:
  • Not moisturising enough
  • Didn't clear rashes
  • Didn't remove dry patches
  • Not suitable for my baby because it did not work
Overall: This was recommended to me twice! Well, you should know by now that my baby is struggling with rashes. Yup! Till now! The very first moment it all popped out, I went straight to kiddy palace to ask them if there were any suitable product to heal rashes fast. They showed me this product and told me that there wasn't any bad feedback as of yet. So I went ahead and bought it and went to another baby shop to ask them the same thing. Surprisingly, They also showed me this product and so i showed them and said. Yeah, I actually just bought so it must be really good huh. I went home and smeared it all over his body - No effect. Next day, I smeared it all over again - No effect. I tried it for a week plus but there were only minor improvements. I even recommended it to someone in a forum, thinking it might help her baby from the good recommendations people had been saying. Well, at least it didn't get worse! So then, i decided that i was a good product but its not suitable for my baby. I am now using it on myself as a regular lotion.

Rating: 2/5

Tips: Try out products even if there are people who say it doesn't work because every baby is different. We'll never know what's suitable for your baby until you try it.

Will I repurchase?: No

My Reviews
Pros:
  • Effective in Clearing blocked nose
  • Safe for babies
  • Moisturises Nose
Cons:
  • Difficult to press
  • Challenging to give to a baby
Overall: I was prescribed this when my baby had "colds". I'm not sure why they didnt prescribe me the sterimar baby when Baby yo was still under 3 months. Well, he had runny nose and he always had blocked nose. Maybe it was allergies but I just couldn't figure it out. This product helped me alot by easing his congestion specially when he was about to feed. it helped him fuss less and get over the whole block nose saga and be done with it.

Rating: 4/5

Tips: Sit or stand a baby when using this. I laid him down, which was not actually supposed to. Well, the doctor didn't tell me. Get the sterimar baby for babies instead of the adult one. No side effects or bad reaction even if i used the wrong one.
