Review: Avent Soothing Magic Cream

Description
With allantoin and milk proteins
The all-in-one solution to your baby's daily skincare needs. Apply to face and body to moisturise, remove dry patches, and help heal rashes.

Features
♦ Hypoallergenic
♦ Mild enough for the most sensitive skin

My Review:
Pros:

  • Smell is nice and pleasant
  • Easily Absorbed
  • Not Sticky
  • Not greasy
Cons:
  • Not moisturising enough
  • Didn't clear rashes
  • Didn't remove dry patches
  • Not suitable for my baby because it did not work
Overall: This was recommended to me twice! Well, you should know by now that my baby is struggling with rashes. Yup! Till now! The very first moment it all popped out, I went straight to kiddy palace to ask them if there were any suitable product to heal rashes fast. They showed me this product and told me that there wasn't any bad feedback as of yet. So I went ahead and bought it and went to another baby shop to ask them the same thing. Surprisingly, They also showed me this product and so i showed them and said. Yeah, I actually just bought so it must be really good huh. I went home and smeared it all over his body - No effect. Next day, I smeared it all over again - No effect. I tried it for a week plus but there were only minor improvements. I even recommended it to someone in a forum, thinking it might help her baby from the good recommendations people had been saying. Well, at least it didn't get worse! So then, i decided that i was a good product but its not suitable for my baby. I am now using it on myself as a regular lotion.

Rating: 2/5

Tips: Try out products even if there are people who say it doesn't work because every baby is different. We'll never know what's suitable for your baby until you try it.

Will I repurchase?: No

Review: Avent Feeding Bottle Classic

Good Feeding, Good Sleeping
Helps settle your baby, especially at night. Fussing is by far the most commonly known crying behaviour in babies. The Philips Avent Advanced classic feeding bottle significantly reduces colic and fussing. Fussing is reduced specially at night.

My Review:
Pros:

  • Measurements are shown clearly
  • Anti-colic
  • Wide neck could easily be cleaned
  • Bpa-free
Cons:
  • It leaks!
  • The nipple is hard/tough
Overall:
The two cons already gave me such a headache, I had to buy new ones. It leaks so bad that my baby's shirt is already drenched by the time i know it. The nipple is so hard that he rejects his milk. luckily the pigeon nipples are able to replace them. But since it was a present, I didn't mind changing the nipples. At least now he drinks his milk.

Rating: 2/5

Tips: Look for the most suitable nipple for your baby. For the first month you're bottle feeding, buy different ones to see which one your baby prefers. Take note of the nipple size as well so that your baby wouldn't fuss when feeding. I recommend to get the taller bottles as well so that you can use it longer.

Will I repurchase?: No

Recommended age: 0+

Review: Avent Freeflow Pacifier 0-6 months

The Philips AVENT Freeflow pacifier offers a durable soothing solution for infants up to six months old. Nipples are made of odor-free silicone, which is easy to sterilize and resists becoming sticky or misshapen. The special shape of these BPA Free pacifiers allows for healthy development of a baby's palate, teeth, and gums.

Promotes Orthodontic Health
The collapsible nipple works with the natural development of a baby's teeth and gums. The nipple is flat and drop-shaped, respecting the shape of your baby's palate even when the pacifier is positioned upside down in the mouth.

Durable, Taste-Free Silicone
The Freeflow pacifier is made of durable silicone. Silicone is taste and odor free, so your baby is less likely to reject it. Silicone nipples are strong and resist becoming sticky, discolored, or misshapen.

Secure Ring Handle for Quick Retrieval
The pacifier features a security ring, allowing for quick retrieval or removal and making it easy for your baby to grasp. Six holes in the pacifier cap allow for greater airflow, reducing the possibility of irritation on your baby's face. The Freeflow pacifier is BPA free.

Easy to Sterilize
Sterilizing these pacifiers is simple--put them in a Philips AVENT steam sterilizer or boil for five minutes. Philips AVENT pacifiers and their caps are also dishwasher safe. Add one of the included snap-on caps after cleaning to keep the pacifier sterile until it's needed.

My Review:
Pros:

  • The shape of the pacifier doesn't interfere with baby's breathing
  • Translucent clear colour makes it easy to clean and spot dirt
  • Has a snap-on protective cap which is great for hygiene purposes
  • Easy to put and take out from baby's mouth
Cons
  • The nipple is not that fantastic
Overall: This is the first pacifier that Baby yo used. However, he is not the pacifier type and more of a finger-sucking type. It was together in a set that came with the sterilizer which was given to me. He used it here and there when he liked it but it was good that he wasn't attached to it much because it maybe a bad habit when he grows older. He used it more to fall asleep rather than "sucking purposes". At the end, he didn't care much for it after a month or so.

Rating: 3/5

Tips: Do not be afraid to offer your baby a pacifier specially if you're baby is always fussy. You could always use it for soothing purposes specially when you're outdoors and scared to be stared at when the baby starts crying. Try looking for clues as to why your baby cries rather than giving it to the him as soon as he yells because this encourages a bad habit to break. It may also affect your bond in understanding your baby.

Will I repurchase: No
